Open Bloom Floral began with a simple love for flowers and grew into a floral studio built around creating meaningful moments, sharing knowledge and helping people experience the beauty of flowers in their own way.
WHERE IT BEGAN
A love for flowers that started long before OBF.
My relationship with flowers started long before I ever imagined becoming a florist.
As a child, I watched my grandmother pick jasmine flowers from the plant outside our home and place them on the altar, replacing them with fresh blooms the next day. Years later, I began buying little bundles of flowers with my own pocket money for my mother on Mother's Day. They were simple flowers, but I still remember how happy they made her.
At 16, my first job was at a plant nursery, selling Chinese New Year plants and flowers. I didn't know it then, but flowers would continue finding their way into different chapters of my life.
Years later, I began experimenting with flowers for myself — first creating arrangements for my home, then my pre-wedding photoshoot, and eventually my own wedding bouquet. I had no formal floristry training at the time. I simply had an idea of what I loved and a willingness to figure out how to make it happen.
That curiosity eventually became Open Bloom Floral.
WHY FLOWERS MATTER
Flowers have a way of reminding us to slow down.
Flowers don't last forever — and perhaps that's part of their beauty.
A single bloom can brighten an ordinary day, remind us to care for ourselves, or make us pause long enough to notice something beautiful. Even a little flower growing through a crack in the pavement can feel like a quiet reminder that beauty can exist in unexpected places.
Flowers also teach us about change. They begin as buds, bloom in their own time, give what they can to the world, and eventually fade. Their fleeting nature reminds us to appreciate things while they're here and to be present for the moments we get to experience.
That's what I love about flowers. They're beautiful, but they also have something to teach us.

Floristry shouldn't feel intimidating. With the right knowledge, tools and encouragement, anyone can learn to work with flowers and create something beautiful.

What started with bespoke floral arrangements has grown into a space for people to experience flowers in many different ways.
Through weddings, celebrations, workshops and Bloom Bars, we've had the privilege of creating alongside our customers. And as we've grown, we've found new ways to share what we've learned — from practical flower care guides and sourcing resources to tools and educational products that make working with flowers feel more approachable.
Our goal has remained the same: to help more people experience flowers with confidence, creativity and intention.
MEET THE FOUNDER
Hi, I'm Haley.
I'm the florist and founder behind Open Bloom Floral.
I started OBF because I wanted to build something of my own — a business that allowed me to create, keep learning and bring a little more beauty into people's lives.
Flowers have been part of many chapters of my life, from the little bundles I bought for my mother as a child to creating my own wedding flowers, and eventually helping others bring their own floral ideas to life.
Today, I love that OBF allows me to do more than create flowers. I get to teach, share what I've learned and help people discover that working with flowers doesn't have to feel intimidating.
And perhaps most importantly, I'm building OBF in a way that stays true to the things I value: creativity, family, meaningful work and the simple beauty of flowers.
